Introduction

Welcome to Herbal Alchemy, the clinical herbalism course for those aspiring to help themselves - and others - heal with herbal medicine. Whether you are bursting at the seams to make medicines, learn more about the body, or add herbalism as a modality to your existing business, you are just where you belong.

Just like the strength of a home reflects the quality of its foundation, the quality of your herbal business will be no different. Alchemy itself is defined as a seemingly magical process of transformation, creation, or combination of the two. I hope you're ready to create some serious alchemy, because throughout this training, you will experience many "aha" moments during your research and as you begin to practice your work with others. What's pivotal though, is having a core framework you can rely on in your day-to-day, and this is just part of what I'll be teaching you.

Learning herbalism is a continual, life-changing journey, especially for those who are beyond playing it small. So just for a moment, I want you think about the end-game. What is a long-term goal you have as it pertains to this program? Throughout this course, I'll be reminding you to consider your goals, so that what you create is in real alignment with what you actually want. Whether you plan for herbalism to be your side hustle or your go-to modality, you can create magic every day, and you are going enjoy this ride.

The goal of Herbal Alchemy is to teach you how to become a well-rounded herbal practitioner - one who can seamlessly onboard and work with clients, knows how to make herbal medicines, but can also handle the bookkeeping (even if you outsource it later). Together, we will build your intimate (or grand) business that you’ll still love 20 years from now.

We will cover a variety of historical and scientific concepts around herbalism, including traditional, indigenous uses of plants as medicine. While herbalism is often used to cleanse, rejuvenate, and heal the physical body, it can also be used in ritual and spiritual practices from meditation to Shamanic journeying. In addition to this wide range of applications in herbal medicine, you’ll also learn business concepts that allow you to start simply and wisely. If you're already in business for yourself, you can look forward to uniquely positioning yourself as an even more competitive practitioner, as you infuse herbalism into your lifestyle. You will find endless uses to support those already in your circle.

We’re here to leave our signature - our mark - on the world, and I will be reminding you of this throughout our time together. Whatever you do, do it well. How you speak about the work you do should reflect your passion for it and your desire to consciously create the career you envision.

As we begin our trek into the herbal kingdom, I ask that you have an open mind, an open heart and the tenacity to stay the course. Before you know it, you’ll be forging ahead to create a career that reflects who you are at the core, a 100% authentic expression of you.
